Reward and encourage talented players with trophies and awards

It’s that time of the season again where winners are crowned up and down the country. Winning teams are built of talented players and these players will amass a collection of trophies and medals throughout their careers.  These awards are the ultimate encouragement for players to continue to deliver high quality sporting performances.

But it isn’t just the players who are congratulated at this time of the season; managers, officials and support staff are also recognised for their contribution to the team with each individual playing their part. Referees can be catered for with whistle resin awards whilst their assistants are covered with various flag trophies for that special thanks for running the line all year long. The game doesn’t happen without them so their importance should not be underestimated.

Junior clubs, amateur adult teams, schools, colleges, universities and boys clubs all finish off their seasons with awards presentations; a great opportunity for teams to celebrate the season past and look forward to future endeavours with their teammates.

Do you remember the awards presentations from when you were a young player or even the ones your own children have attended?

The 2012 Olympics in London has certainly spurred on a new found competitive spirit amongst the youth in Great Britain as many young players look to emulate their sporting heroes who received medals last summer; from Bradley Wiggins and Chris Hoy in the Cycling to Mo Farah and Jessica Ennis in the Athletics there are a raft of British Olympic role models to look up to an try to emulate. Although the medals they won may be small, the significance is huge to the winning recipient and the country they represent. And, this is no different at every other level of sport; an end of season trophy may seem like a small item but the memories can last a lifetime as their achievements are lasting representations of the blood, sweat and tears that have been shed along the glorious journey to sporting victory. So, don’t pass up the opportunity to reward and encourage talented players with trophies and awards at the end of this season.
